Become a volunteer
Can you give up a few hours each week to help to run one of our regular groups for LGBTQ+ young people?
You’ll be there to address any concerns or worries they have around sexuality, gender identity or self-expression.
Reasons to volunteer
-
Make a difference
You can help LGBTQ+ young people gain the confidence to move forward with their lives.
-
Train and learn
You'll gain valuable experience of supporting young people. We will train you for the role and will provide a reference for future work, study and volunteering opportunities.
Who we're looking for...
People aged 18+ who can commit to a three hour shift each month (minimum).
Individuals who recognise and empathise with the challenges that some young LGBTQ+ people face.
Individuals who can talk with, motivate and engage young people.
People willing to undergo some training (provided by Porchlight – the charity that The BeYou Project is part of).
Two references will be required and a DBS check will be undertaken.
When you have completed the application form, please email it to beyou@porchlight.org.uk.
Fundraise for BeYou
The possibilities are endless when it comes to raising money for a great cause.
You may be celebrating a birthday or personal milestone, taking on a sporting challenge, organising a cake sale for colleagues, or even fundraising in memory of someone special. However you support, you'll be making a real difference to young LGBTQ+ people in Kent.
Donate today
By making a donation, you could help give LGBTQ+ young people in Kent the right support, to ensure they feel included, have positive mental health, a safe place to call home and a bright future.
